Great timing!

Well I picked an excellent moment to come back & give a blog update. I literally have to be out the door & gone to Victoria in 5 minutes. Sorry if this seems rushed but it's been so long I feel a quick blog is better then nothing.

Alright, I'm back in B.C. I came back to see my mom, Steel Panther (two nights ago) & Fishbone tonight! I'm veryyyyyy excited about Fishbone.

Last week was really crazy, Matt moved to Edmonton & it was his birthday so it was like a non-stop drinking binge. It was awesome! Don't have time to go into details.

Life's usually pretty good, but lately it's been seriously perfect. I'm even happier then usual these days.

Herbert West (my band) is recording it's demo in the next two weeks so theres going to be a lot of stuff happening with that in the next few weeks. I'll be sure to update with that.

Anyways, I gotta jet!

Much love,

Sheldon

Tour

So last week I was following Inepsy on tour. I went to six shows. It was SUCH a blast. Fuck so many good memories. Everyone to do with that band is SO fucking great. Julie (merch girl) took some pictures. I'll post them after they're sent to me.

I'm really drained from this all though. So I'll post the next time I feel inspired.

Yours Truly,

Sheldon

Fucking Rights Doggey

Well, well, well... sorry it's been awhile. Life is CRAZY right now. Between Baltimore, this road trip I'm on right now, my band (www.myspace.com/herbertwestband) & work, shit has been NUTS!

Baltimore was such a fucking ride, I saw so many cool bands (Verbal Abuse, Wolfbrigade, D.R.I., Pentagram, Possessed). Man it was insane. Booze is so cheap in the states we just went crazy. Jesus fuck I had SOOOOO much fun. I can't even go into detail because I still have so much to talk about.

My band finally came out & made a myspace (featured above) & shit is going over soooo well. I went to the Inepsy gig in Vancouver last night & people were actually singing the lyrics to Bound In Human Flesh & (Herbert) West Hotel at me & Matt. That was such a cool feeling. Our demo should be out mid-July. We're going to be taking donations for it. The donations will help us get studio time so we can put out a 7" or a full length.

Now on the road trip. I've been to the Edmonton, Calgary & the first Vancouver Inepsy show so far & tonight is the second Vancouver gig. Tomorrow night I'm doing something very special & Friday is the Victoria gig (may be the last one... we might try to make the 2nd Calgary gig). Either way it's been a ride so far & we've plowed through 2 & a half flats of beer.

I'm getting really sick of typing so I'm gonna make this next paragraph quick... I GET TO SEE FISHBONE ON JULY 10TH! FUUUUCCCKKKK YESSSSS! THAT'S SO FUCKING AWESOME! Ughhh... OH & the Dickies show at New City was fucking FANTASTIC!

Sheldon

Well Howdy!

Alright! It's time for a serious fill-in of whats been going down the past... week? Something along those lines.

First notable thing was the Friday of last week. Some reeeeeeal good stuff. First off I got REALLY cheap tickets for Slaughter (the Vegas hair band, not the extremely boring Canadian death metal band) off Kijiji. Funniest thing, the dude who sold them to me literally lives 5 houses away from me. No joke. How cool is that? So as the day went on I ended up watching Henry Rollins do his spoken word performance for an hour which was funny & always good breath of fresh air considering most of the garbage people spill out. Now that was fun & all but HOLY FUCKING SHIT DID MY NIGHT GET BETTER.

This deserves it's own paragraph. After I left Henry Rollins I LRT'd up to Century Casino to see Slaughter. Slaughter came on & were really good, Mark wasn't over doing the vocals & being a jackass (this was my main fear). The band - Dana Strum was well.. Dana Strum... HILARIOUS. I couldn't stop thinking about the bottle of piss picture. The bottle of piss picture is a fantastic Metal Sludge photoshop from 2008, I'll never forget it. Blando was a really mediocre guitar player that needed to fix his pedal board & be a tad-less "I'm a fucking guitar god maniac". Fuck dude, you were in Saigon Kick, whoop-dee do. The most stand out member of the band was fucking Blas Elias. Man... I knew he was fucking legit drummer & all from the great Slaughter albums & his shit with Blue Man Group, but fuck... he's insane! He does some of the craziest drum tricks I've ever seen. He makes every hair metal drummer look like they just started spinning sticks. Fucking awesome. They played a wicked set: Desperately, Wild Life, Eye To Eye, Mad About You, Up All Night (Sleep All Day) & Fly To The Angels (of course), Spend My Life, & a couple more... the big deal though was Burnin' Bridges... this is my favorite Slaughter tune & guess what fucking happened! GUESS! MARK PUT THE MIC UP TO ME DURING THE CHORUS! FUUUUUCCCCKKKK YESSSSSS! Keep in mind this dude isn't Vince Neil who does that for every lyric. This was the only time he did it in the show & it was WAY TOO FUCKING COOL! My favorite tune & I got to be a part of it. For those of you who don't know, Stick It To Ya is one of my top 5 hair metal records EVER. The show was really cool though, Mark went out into the crowd & sung a tune & afterwards the whole band came out & partied with everyone. Really good stuff.

Afterwards I headed to H2O lounge & drank pony sized cocktails while watching hilarious Karaoke. I was so pissed by the end of the night I vomited off my friends balcony onto some car, ha!

Next notable day was Sunday. Sunday I went to go see Public Enemy & it was so fucking sweet. They played tunes mainly off It Takes A Nation & Fear Of A Black Planet but they even played some jams off Bum Rush! that was really cool, & they of course played my favorite tune Welcome To The Terrordome. Fucking sweet. Afterwards I got to meet the one & only Flavor Flav, shake his hand & take a picture. He's such a legit dude, it was awesome. How many 18 year-old dudes get to say they met Flavor Flav?

Monday night I went & saw my friend Jay's band Meanstreak who I've mentioned before & they were fantastic.

Just 2 more days 'til I leave for Maryland. I may update before that.

Yours Truly,

Sheldon
